HARLEM'S #1 FAMILY SUNDAY AFTERNOON OF SOULFUL HOUSE, AFRO BEATS AND CLASSICS! Come be blessed and dance under the sun with DJ Stormin' Norman and Supa Special Guest DJs and a few surprises! Harlem enjoys a rich history of music, culture and community that connects all people from all corners of the globe. Sundae Sermon seeks to continue this tradition with a simple and soulful day of dancing under the Uptown sun. Sundae Sermon is an afternoon in the park of music, dancing, family and community commerce. The foundation of the sound of Sundae Sermon is positive house music and peaceful tribal vibes. The spirit of house music comes from the church; so it's only befitting house music should be the cornerstone of this public dance-party. New and old house, blended with classic R&B (Barry White, Stevie Wonder), Disco (Thelma Houston), Funk (Parliament), Soul (James Brown, TSOP), Afro-Beat (Fela) and Salsa/Boogaloo (Oscar De Leon). All musical genres that cross generations and borders. This is music that makes people feel good! Beautiful Morningside Park is the perfect location for a diverse audience of all ages and cultures to enjoy a fun afternoon of music and relaxation. Harlem is long overdue for an event that brings the community together around a shared love of music. The new Harlem deserves a monthly free and open cultural and recreational experience. Local vendors, community organizations and sponsors will have an opportunity to easily connect with this culturally eclectic audience. After feeding your soul at Church, a free party in the park is the perfect dessert. Sundae Sermon will serve its "congregation", special treats from some of NYC's finest DJ's, musicians and personalities...SWEET! Special treats from DJ Stormin' Norman and some of NYC's finest... Harlem's #1 Family Sunday afternoon of soulful house, afro beats and classics! |
